The Most Effective Way to Learn the Language

Want to learn Bulgarian free? You may be wondering whether there are ways in which you can learn the Bulgarian language free of charge. Children in Bulgaria are doing it every day. You could do it like they do ... which is to live in the culture for two or three years with no other means of communication.

Learning a language requires time and effort. Ignore all those learn Bulgarian free language sites on the Internet that promise to teach you a foreign language within 10 days - or the hundreds of language sites that offer free language courses (there’s always a catch to this one), or the countless companies claiming that you can become fluent with no real effort. Don’t be fooled by these false claims. It is rare occasion to learn Bulgarian free.

If these claims are true, then why does it take foreign language students years to speak and write fluently? There are no shortcuts to learning any foreign language, including to learn Bulgarian free. Sometimes you may wish there were some kind of magic to make you fluent overnight, But unfortunately there isn’t. It takes hard work, motivation, and discipline to succeed.

Bulgarian Language Tutoring

I believe that the best way to learn any foreign language is in a classroom with a teacher or one-on-one with a private tutor. You also need to have regular access to native speakers so that you can practice natural dialogue.

Tony Robbins, a famous life coach, could have been talking about learning to speak Bulgarian when he said,

“Repetition is the mother of all skills!”

That’s difficult if you are trying to learn the Bulgarian language in England because there are no establishments that teach Bulgarian. There just isn’t the demand from the general public to learn Bulgarian
in England ... yet.

The majority of the 30,000 Bulgarian citizens living in England are not aware that some of the British public wants to learn their language. The best way to reach out to these citizens is by placing an advertisement in the Bulgarian newspaper. Who knows? You might be able to visit a household on a regular basis to learn Bulgarian free.

Budilink is the first Bulgarian newspaper in England and Ireland. This newspaper distributes 5,000 copies every week throughout the Bulgarian communities in Britain and Ireland. Use it to contact Bulgarians who may be interested in teaching Bulgarian to British citizens. You never know, there maybe a Bulgarian living near you who is willing to teach the language and culture in return for a fee, or you can possibly learn Bulgarian free.

Bulgarian Language Book

To help with my learning, we use the book and tape set called Teach Yourself Bulgarian, by Michael Holman and Mira Kovatcheva. Michael Holman taught Russian and Bulgarian at the University of Leeds for thirty years. Mira Kovatcheva is a senior lecturer at Sofia University.

This book starts with the basics but moves at a lively pace. It gives a good level of understanding in both speaking and writing. The set offers practical exercises and insights into Bulgarian culture. It is not a way to learn Bulgarian free, but it may cost you less than a private tutor.

TalkNow CD-ROM

I also use Eurotalk Talk Now! Learn Bulgarian a computer CD-ROM for beginners. It uses games and quizzes as a basis for making the learning process fun and relaxing. Ideal for beginners, Talk Now “Bulgarian” includes such topics as vocabulary, phrases, culture, and more. This interactive software also features a recording tool so you can compare your pronunciation to that of native speakers (microphone required).

Quizzes and a challenging memory game let you test your newly acquired skills. Best of all, you can change the Talk Now onscreen help and menus to the language of your choice. With more than 70 languages from which to choose, this software makes learning Bulgarian accessible to everyone.
